I Have a Feeling...

...that conversations like this one are in my future.

Whether I become a doctor or stop at being a RD.

Feeling Good

I've been doing okay work-out wise the past few days.  Between baseball practice with my sons, mowing the yard and 1 1/2 mile walks I've gotten some exercise.  My glutes, my hamstrings, and muscles along my shins are crying every time I go from sitting to standing.  I'm sore and I love it.
I'm taking today off from walking and mowing. Partly due to the rain, mostly due to a blister that formed on my right heel.  I tried putting a band-aid on it yesterday, but when I took it off last night the blister had grown and popped. So I'm taking something of a rest day today.  I do have a work-out I found on bodybuilding.com that I want to do.  I think I can do it bare-footed though.
I drank soda yesterday..way too much soda.  Actually one can is too much.  I don 't know why I get cravings for soda but I do, and lately it's been happening a lot.  I need to kick this habit so that I don't lose all the advances I've made with my health.  I'm getting there.

That lasted a minute

Yea I didn't get too far with the menu plan.  Between a busy week and just not feeling like it, it didn't work too well.  I need to make it work, I know.  I guess that just wasn't the week to do it.  I did make the macaroni and cheese...it was yummy, cheese-y, gooey-ness.  I also made a treat for Mother's Day.  It was not exactly healthy, but it was a treat and treats are fine in moderation, right.
I'll try another menu plan, just got to figure it out.  Right now I'm back to just throwing stuff together.

Menu Planning

This is something that most deem necessary to eating healthy and saving money.  Both things that I am striving to do.  However, I really suck at menu planning.  I'm going to give it another start.  This time I'm taking and making lists of foods that I will make at a point in a week.  I just don't have what day I'm going to make them wrote down.  With my schedule (or lack of) I need to have lots of flexibility with meals.
So what I'm going to do is write out a list for each meal and one snack.  Then that morning(or the night before) look at my schedule and decide what I'm fixing that day.  I think this will work and I got a yummy sounding meal plan with help from 100 Days of Real Food.  So I'll share what I serve and what is liked by my bunch and what is not so liked.
So here's the plan for the week (from today to next Saturday):
Breakfast
Whole Wheat Pancakes
Oatmeal
Cereal
Whole Wheat Muffins
*fruit will be served with the pancakes and muffins*

Lunch
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (will be making homemade bread tonight or tomorrow)
Leftover Chicken Enchiladas
Hummus and Spinach Pitas
Leftover Pizza
*also pretzels, unsweetened applesauce, carrots and fruit

Snacks
Whole Wheat Muffins
Dried Apricots
Banana
Lara Bars (or homemade granola bars)
Carrots w/ Hummus
Homemade Trail Mix
Yogurt w/ honey, frozen berries, granola

Dinners
Chicken Enchiladas
Farmer's Market Stir Fry
Leftover Stir Fry turned into Fried Rice
Whole Wheat Macaroni and Cheese
Slow Cooked Chicken w/ salad and Mashed Potatoes
Whole Wheat Pizza

These are not in any type of order.  Tonight it's the Macaroni and Cheese for dinner, we had cereal and fruit for breakfast and since I haven't felt well today lunch was a find-your-own deal.
